Sarah and I have added a few things to her pink palace, which you read about HERE.
We found these great Chinese lanterns at Target in the dollar spot (they came in a package of 2 for $2.50) so we grabbed a few to hang in her room. She has been determined to get a chandelier, but until we find the perfect one, this is an inexpensive alternative with big visual impact!
After hanging them, I thought we needed to fill in the bare spots some, so I made pom-pom flowers using tissue paper. I used Martha Stewart's tutorial, which was super easy, and it can be found HERE. I almost wish we had just done all flowers! To finish it off, we glued some butterflies cut from scrapbook paper onto the lanterns. The entire thing costs less than $10!
Over the bed, we've added this little plaque that says "always kiss me goodnight." It was made from a blank craft (paper mache?) board and a sticker decal. Sarah painted the board, I added the sticker, and then we both embellished it with buttons. She loves it!
And to finish it all off, I had her do some little paintings which we framed. They are arranged at her eye level so that she can admire her work, and it's easy to change out. I also finally dry-brushed the dresser w/ pink to bring out some of the detail and give it a little bit of a distressed look.
I think that aside from a window treatment, her room is D.O.N.E!
