new friends, old friends

We made it safely home from our visit to TX for Thanksgiving! There is snow on the ground and it's beyond chilly, but we are glad to be home.

On the way to TX, we stopped and stayed the night in Arkansas so that we could meet a long time e-friend of mine. It was very exciting! Lori Anne and I met on babycenter.com when we were pregnant with our twins. They were born about a week apart and we've been friends ever since. We plan to meet up with a few of our other twin mom e-friends for a girls only weekend in 2009 and can hardly wait.

We had a nice cajun dinner with her crew and then let the kids run wild in the hotel lobby. You can check out her blog here.

On our second travel day, we made a quick stop in the DFW area to meet up with an old friend of mine from Copperas Cove High School ~ Lisa. I haven't seen her since 1995, but she hasn't changed at all, except that I think she's a couple of inches taller! I had lost touch with her for a very long time and only recently found her online. She has a gorgeous little girl who is right around the twins age. We had lunch at McDonald's and the kids played together in the playland for what quickly turned into a couple of hours! Time really flies by! You can check out her blog here.

I should have made plans to meet with lots of other old and new friends (and some family) but I was not the greatest planner for this trip. Honestly, Scott was the one who came up with the ideas to meet these fine ladies! Anyway, can't wait for the next encounters!
