4th of July fun

We spent the 4th with Scott's family in Nebraska (because he started his new job there that week!) We had unusually cool weather and lots of excitement while we were there.

(You can click the pics to see them larger.)

The kids and their cousin got to play at the Lincoln children's zoo. Poor {P} came down with a bout of vertigo that morning (something we've been dealing with since she was a baby) so she was dizzy and pukey, but managed to ride a pony for the first time anyway! She's such a (stubborn) little trouper! Even though she could barely keep herself upright, she loved it and so did {E}.

The kiddos celebrated the 4th in style, complete with tiaras of course! They got to see a big fireworks display (in the rain) and play with sparklers at the house. Grandma's neighborhood also has a little parade that they joined in on.

Scott's grandma (Oma) celebrated her 80th birthday while we were there. We had a nice party for her with lots of cake and friends from all over the place.

One of the last things we did was visit Lincoln's big rose garden and sunken garden with some of our Canadian cousins that were down for the party. Such a pretty place with tons of gorgeous flowers! I'm sure that once we're settled in Nebraska, I'll be using them for portrait locations. Anyone need some bridal portraits done??
