St. Patrick's Day Fun!

My favorite memory about St. Patrick's day is from kindergarten. We got to class and *leprechauns* had made a glitter trail through the room, all over the place, leading to a pot of sparkling Hershey's kisses! It was so magical and exciting and I've always wanted to bring a little of that magic into my kids' lives.

It's not too late to make a St. Patty's day memory this year! It doesn't have to cost anything either! I've used green confetti to make a trail leading to candy in previous years, but the leprechauns were a little more mischievous this year. Overnight, they turned our milk green, the eggs green, ate into cupcakes and made frosting footprints all over the kitchen. They spelled out messages with stale marshmallows on the dining table and left cherry tomatoes all over the kitchen floor for Daddy to step on in the middle of the night (hahahaha!!! It didn't work, btw!)

But who says they can only come at night??? If you still need to make a memory, sneak some food color into their milk at dinner or turn the mac-n-cheese green. No food coloring? Turn all the picture frames upside down or put dried beans under the covers. It's such an easy thing to do, and the memories are so worth the effort!!!!

After the big kid went off to school, I decided we should take the twins out for some St. Patty's day fun. We headed over to Borders bookstore for story time. They are always great with the kids (check your location!!!) They read a story, dance to music, color and have a snack. Today they even got a special frozen treat from the coffee shop! Daddy wasn't terribly excited about being there, but it was fun! This was their first time since they were newborns. (You can click the pics to make them larger...)

No pinching took place!

There's also still time to enter the GIVEAWAY at The Maternal Lens!! Hop on over and check it out! May the luck of the Irish be with you!!

Yay for St pattys day fun! I cant wait until next year to start this stuff with Kyle. This year he is still a little too young to grasp that what he is eating or drinking shouldnt be green in the first place ;) Thanks for the ideas! And may the luck of the Irish be with you!
