One of the great things about Peoria is that it has its own little zoo, which is easily accessible for little morning outings and such. Anyway, the zoo recently opened a huge new section dedicated to African animals. There are giraffes, rhinos, lions and other assorted critters. They've built little shelters and boardwalks that lead you around the exhibits. It has doubled the size of the zoo! If you are ever in town, definitely check it out!
