favorites

Today on the Shutter Sisters blog, they are discussing favorite photos of 2008. It's so hard to pick from your own stash of pictures, because they are like children, each with their own unique qualities and reasons to be loved. I have come so far this year with my photography, with the biggest accomplishment being manual shooting. It really makes a world of difference! Anyway, I've been thinking a lot lately about what prints I would want made to hang in our house, and this one always pops in my mind as a favorite, so here it is...my favorite picture of 2008.

I took this with my backup camera and lens because Ellen dumped her milk on my good camera, so it was in the shop. Seeing what I could get with less than my best equipment, knowing what I was doing with the settings, really is enlightening.

I can't have a post about favorite picture without including my true favorite of the year, taken by my dear friend Shannon aka jsbb123. You can see more of her photos on flickr. I could just stare at it all day long and plan to have her make a huge print for me one of these days!

a land unseen by jsbb123.

If you'd like to see more of my favorites on flickr, you can view
them here.

What's your favorite photo of 2008?
